The UMD Graduate Student Government allocates funding to graduate student groups throughout the year as a means to support specific events and programs.

In order to serve the diverse graduate student population that pays a student fee, the GSG distributes money to graduate student organizations for hosting events. There are very few requirements for funding, aside from the most important one, which requires becoming a recognized student organization in the University's system. 


Requests for large amounts need to be submitted at least six weeks prior to the event. 


Smaller amounts may be applied for one month prior to the event. 


The application process is all handled online so that you don't have to walk forms over to our offices. Please read below our ERF Best Practices:
