GSG is currently holding nominations for Program/Departmental Representatives, as well as the positions of: President, Vice President for Legislative affairs, and Vice President for Financial Affairs, of the Graduate Student Government. Some of these opportunities come in the form of graduate assistantships with associated benefits.
Graduate Student Government (GSG) advocates on important issues affecting UMD grad students. We continue to work daily to advocate for, build community, and represent our community’s interests.
During COVID-19, we have added to our usual efforts to help our community’s most critical needs. To name just a few, we have worked to advocate in favor of the prorated student fee refund, created a “one-stop” FAQ for graduate concerns, and voted in favor of policy changes to ensure the ability for virtual defenses and better advising in this new normal. We are also nearing the completion of a formalized, cross-departmental international student services group. See more of what we have worked on here.
