On Friday, September 13th, the 39th Session of the Graduate Student Government began with a Meet and Greet in the Graduate Student Lounge. It was a wonderful time to gather all the new representatives who are volunteering their time this year for the graduate student community. After our pizza, coffee, ice cream and photos, everyone proceeded to our first Assembly of the year with an unprecedented number of voting and executive representation from 11 colleges!
We believe this representation will enhance GSG credibility with resolutions and advocacy as well as increase our capacity as a representative body to connect all graduate students with resources and programming. We thank all 90 members of GSG (reps and execs) who are dedicating themselves this year to advocacy, community building and making sure graduate students have representation on over 55 committees at the institutional, system, state and national level.Â
