We are happy to share that the resolution from GSG to support the fee consolidation proposal that passed in February 2022 was shared with UMD leadership and USM leadership. It was well received and noted as significant by those advocating at the policy level. This proposal would recategorize several fees including libraries, performing arts, health center, cultural center, and technology as essential components of the university and supported by state and tuition monies instead of through mandatory fees.
