GSG and Grad School PhD Career and Professional Development Collaborative Event for PhD Program Representatives
On October 8th, GSG gathered PhD program representatives for a career pathways workshop. Dr. Susan Martin and GA Jeffrey Yeung were wonderful facilitators of this very interactive and engaging program. Most PhD students fret and worry about life after the degree and this workshop focused on how to imagine and pursue a myriad of professional options after graduate school. Branching outside of the traditional trajectory of academia, the workshop discussed tools to match up values and skills with roles in non-profits, government, business, industry, policy and more. This was a pilot programmed design to have GSG program representatives able and ready to transfer knowledge and resources to fellow graduate students who may benefit.
