Recap: October Assembly focused on Mental Health

On Tuesday, October 8th's General Assembly, GSG welcomed a panel of UMD mental health professionals working across campus to share resources and answer questions from graduate students.

The panel was highly interactive and the assembly delved into key issues regarding how to best share resources, how to pick health plans, conversations about requiring health insurance for graduate students, wait times, financial support for the counseling center and health center, how the student health advisory council works and how to know where to go when. In addition, some representatives are already working with panel members to bring mental health to their specific programs and departments. We can't wait to see how these go!

The Assembly also passed a resolution support of DACA and non-DACA students. Learn more via the Diamondback article "“We care about these students”: GSG calls for more funding options for undocumented students" by Angela Roberts.
